I'm gone ... 'fishing!' =D

I resigned last September from the apprenticeship program... Learned lots, gained new friends, caught on fire while welding (third degree burns), missed working and learning more of the craft, ... and just had to let it go.

OSHA-10

Third class tonight, 9-21-09, we finished and took test on what we have learned on Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Our OSHA card is good for Life, but we can always update it again.

Next class is CStop...

Life is good! I am at Step 2 as an Apprentice in UA26, and I am learning more and more on the job at J M Martinac Shipbuilding Corp! I'm loving it! Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

Doing good, doing good ... Almost all caught up here financially. Still learning my new career (craft).

Fundraising

I'd like to find a way to do some fundraising for this apprenticeship program to help future class students to make it through so they don't run into the financial muck distractions that take 'em away from focusing on learning the art of welding & gaining skills to be welders in the Union or elsewhere.

I still believe in this program!

December 2008

We are about to come to the end of the pilot program here as we only have two weeks left before the official graduation day. Then supposedly they will allow us one more week of practice before the Christmas holiday season.

As we've been successful in getting this program off the ground, they have scheduled the next group to start on February 2nd, 2009.

Nov 18th

I found out that I will not be in the UA26.....
